Below is two examples of a user interface design. It is common for people to confuse design and implementation of the interface. It is also common for people to forget that there are other interfaces other than a graphical one (for example a menu based interface).

The two designs are both black and white. This is quite common as the colour scheme may be decided later or may change. What should not change is the layout of the designs or what they contain. This then gives some element of creativity to the implementation team without disrupting the flow or functionality of the system.
